From Vision to Legacy: Celebrating Peyton’s Eagle Scout Gazebo Dedication at Children’s Harbor

A Community Milestone Worth Celebrating

At NOHMIS, we believe that great engineering serves a greater purpose by building spaces that bring people together. On January 13, 2026, that purpose came to life as the community gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new gazebo designed as part of Peyton’s Eagle Scout Service Project at Children’s Harbor.

What began as a student-led idea has now become a lasting symbol of leadership, compassion, and engineering excellence, a project that will impact generations to come.

Honoring Peyton’s Leadership and Recognition

We are thrilled to share that Peyton has been nominated to the Court of Honor, with his project also being recognized for national distinction. His initiative, persistence, and hands-on approach throughout the planning and construction process made this achievement especially meaningful.

This isn’t just an Eagle Scout project, it’s a legacy of service and design that embodies the spirit of community empowerment. Peyton’s dedication and willingness to collaborate closely with our engineers at NOHMIS exemplify what it means to lead with purpose.

A Safe Space with Heart and Purpose

Children’s Harbor provides safety, stability, and hope for teens who have endured unimaginable challenges. For many of them, it’s a place to heal and rediscover their sense of belonging.

The new gazebo stands as a beacon of community and comfort, a space where kids and teenagers can relax, study, and simply “vibe” together. More than just a structure, it is a symbol of peace and connection designed specifically for youth who lack a dedicated environment of their own. As Peyton shared during the ceremony, while the project was a massive community effort, the ultimate objective was to ensure that “kids who don’t have the same opportunities as I did growing up… actually get to have something that they can call their spot, their place.”

Our NOHMIS team is honored to have supported the engineering design that helped make this project possible. To see this space filled with laughter, light, and life is a reminder of why we do what we do.

Engineering a Legacy That Lasts

Every NOHMIS project, whether it’s a residential development or a community space like this one, begins with a foundation of integrity and care. For this special collaboration, our engineers ensured the gazebo was structurally sound, weather-resistant, and designed for lasting use, while keeping its natural, inviting aesthetic.

The result is a space that blends engineering precision with human purpose, a reflection of what happens when technical expertise meets heartfelt community service.

A Lasting Impact

Peyton’s project at Children’s Harbor has already made a visible difference, but its impact will continue to grow. For the teens who call this place home, it’s more than a gazebo, it’s a reminder that they are seen, valued, and supported by their community.

At NOHMIS, we are deeply proud to have worked alongside Peyton on such a meaningful initiative. His passion and leadership remind us that the future of our communities depends on young people who dare to build something lasting.

Continuing Our Commitment to Community

Projects like this reinforce what NOHMIS stands for: engineering that builds more than structures, but it also builds connection, safety, and hope.

We look forward to supporting more community-driven projects across South Florida, where our engineering expertise can help turn great ideas into lasting legacies.
