Dr. Nina Jean-Louis brings together a range of roles – engineer, heritage specialist, research, instructor, to name a few – united by one purpose: helping communities lead their own resilience. Over a decade across the engineering and cultural resource fields, she has partnered with communities, firms, nonprofits and municipal agencies on solving complex resilience and heritage challenges from site condition assessments and retrofit guidance to resilience education and community engagement. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil & Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami, where she developed a mix-methods framework to quantify cultural landscape resilience from a community-driven perspective. Off the clock, she’s most at home on the water, sailing around Key Biscayne with Shake-A-Leg Miami.
